Singair Mosque Bagerhat

Singair Mosque is located in Sundarghona village, adjacent to the Khulna-Barisal highway in Bagerhat district , one of the oldest towns in Bangladesh . It is believed that this historical dome mosque was built by Khan Jahan Ali (RA) in the fifteenth century during the Mughal rule. The distance from Sixty Dome Mosque to Singair Mosque is only 25 meters. The square mosque with one dome has an area of ​​(12.04 x 12.04) meters and the walls of the mosque are 2.10 meters thick. The cornices around the mosque are curved and there are 4 round towers at the four corners of the mosque.

Singair Mosque, similar in features to the Six-Domed Mosque, has a total of 5 arched doors, 3 on the east side and 1 each on the north and south sides. However, among the 3 doors in the eastern wall, the middle door is relatively large. There is an ornate mihrab on the western wall of the mosque. Similarities can be seen in the ornamentation of the arches and the sides of the door.

Buses to Meghna, Banphool, Falguni, Ara, Toor, Baleshwar, Hamim and Dola from Dhaka's Syedabad Bus Terminal daily from 6am to 10am and 7pm to 10pm and Padma Setu from Gabtali Bus Terminal to Sohag, Shakura, Hanif and Eagle He left for Bagerhat. These buses cost 650 to 800 taka per person. Singair Masjid can be reached by rickshaw or other local transport from Bagerhat bus stand.

Besides, from Dhaka to Khulna by inter-city train Sundarban Express or Chitra Express train can reach Khulna from there by bus or CNG to Singair Mosque. It takes one to one and a half hours to reach Singair Masjid from Khulna.

Accommodation in Bagerhat is not very good, but there are some residential hotels of medium quality. You can check and stay overnight at Mumtaz Hotel or other nearby hotels on the railway road. As Bagerhat district is near Khulna, if you want you can go to Khulna and stay at a residential hotel.

You can go to hotels near bus stand or darga for eating. But definitely know about the food quality and price.
