In 1649, Mirza Safsikan was appointed Fauzdar of Jessore . He was the brother-in-law of Subedar Shah Sooja of Bengal. The area where Mirza Safsikan lives is named Mirzanagar at the junction of Kapotaksh and Buribhadra rivers, 7 km from Keshabpur upazila headquarters. Mirzanagar's Nawabbari has a spectacular Hammamkhana, known as Mirzanagar Hammamkhana. The Hammamkhana of Nawabbari, now almost destroyed, still exists and visitors from far and wide flock to Mirzanagar to see this monument of the Mughal era.
According to information received from various historians, Nurla Khan was appointed Fauzdar of the area during the reign of Emperor Aurangzeb. He dug a trench on the banks of Buribhadra river and built a fort called Motijheel. Hammam Khana was established in one part of the 10 feet high walled fort. The Hammamkhana, modeled after Mughal architecture, has 4 rooms and a well. The 4-domed Hammamkhana has two rooms each on the west and east sides. However, the rooms on the eastern side were used as choubachas. On the south side of the Hammamkhana there is a chowbacha and tunnel. It is considered as Toshakhana. In 1996, Bangladesh Directorate of Archeology declared Mirzanagar Hammam Khana as an archaeological monument.
