Khoiyachora Waterfall

Khoiyachora Waterfall is one of the largest waterfalls in Bangladesh located in Mirsrai, Chittagong. Tourists are constantly fascinated by the nine steps and aesthetic beauty of the Khayachara Jharna. It is difficult to ignore the appeal of the unique Khayachara in the village's green winding paths and hilltops, so nature lovers call the Khaiachara fountain as the queen of fountains in Bangladesh.

The location of the Khaiyachhara spring is 4.2 km from Baratakia Bazar. Passing through bamboo groves, crooked field lanes, hilly paths, ridges, streams and mountains, all the tiredness of the journey is relieved when one encounters the trickling waterfall. Bathing in the cool water of the fountain fills the mind with unearthly tranquility.

By bus from Dhaka : You can go to Khaiachhra Jharna by any bus going to Chittagong from any part of Dhaka. Non AC bus fare of S Alam, Shyamli, Saudia, Unique, Hanif, Eagle, Ena etc. is Tk 420-480. Among AC buses Greenline, Saudia, Sohag, TR these bus fares are 800-1100 Tk. You have to take the bus of your choice and get down in front of Khayachhara Ideal School near Baratakia Bazar in Mirsrai. Besides, you can take Feni (fare 280 taka) from Syedabad bus stand and come in front of Khiyachhara Ideal School near Mirsrai market.

By train from Dhaka : Any intercity train from Dhaka to Chittagong should get down at Feni station. The train fare is Tk 265-909 per person depending on the class. From Feni station you have to go to Feni Mohipal bus stand by rickshaw/auto for Tk 10-15. From there take a local bus and get down in front of Khayachhara Ideal School near Baratakia Bazar in Mirsarai.

From Alankar city gate of Chittagong city, one can take some local buses to reach in front of Khaiachhra Ideal School near Baratakia Bazar in Mirsrai.

You can come from Sylhet by bus or train. Any bus going to Chittagong should get off at Thakurdighi Bazar before Mirsarai. If you want to come by train, you have to take the intercity train Paharika Express and Udayan Express or the mail train Jalalabad Express and get down to Feni station. From Feni station you have to go to Feni Mohipal bus stand by rickshaw/auto for Tk 10-15. From there, take a local bus for a fare of Tk 30-40 to go down to Mirsarai's Baratakiya Bazar.

You can come near Khaiachhra Ideal School and get 100 taka CNG to get near Khaiachhra Jharna Jhiri. And if you want to go by tracking the whole route, you can find the route by asking any local. Get off the Dhaka Chittagong Highway and walk east along the village road for ten minutes and you will find the railway line. If you cross the railway line and walk for 10 to 15 minutes, you will see Jhiri.

If you walk for about an hour and a half along the path through the forest, you will reach the Khayachara Jharna. You will find more travelers on the way so there is no fear of losing your way. However, for special needs, you can take a guide from the starting point of Jhiri Path.

There is no accommodation near Khaiachra Jharna and Baratakia Bazar but if you want to stay in special need you can contact the chairman there. But in Sitakunda you will find some local hotels to stay. Saudia and Simon are among them. You have to spend 300 to 1600 rupees to stay in Saimun and Saudia. On the way to Khayachara Jharna you will find several food hotels. There you can order food according to your menu and eat on the way back. At these local hotels, you can eat at very low prices, but you can check the prices if necessary. But it is good to remember that after 5 pm all the local food hotels here are closed.

Besides, you can eat your favorite food at Saudia Restaurant, Apan Restaurant or Al Amin Restaurant when you come back to Sitakunda.
