Dinajpur Rajbari

Dinajpur Rajbari, located very close to Dinajpur city, has been regarded as a symbol of the history and richness of the district . After the abolition of zamindari system in 1951, the splendor of Dinajpur Rajbari began to decline. Jagdishnath, the last zamindar of Dinajpur Rajbari, died in Kolkata in 1962. Today this palace survives as a witness of time.

Among the various structures of Dinajpur Rajbari are Kumar Mahal, Ayana Mahal, Rani Mahal, Lakshmi Ghar, Atchala Ghar, Thakur Bari, Kalia Jiu Mandir, Atur Ghar, Rani Pond, Champa Talar Dighi etc. Apart from this, various historical artifacts used by the royal family obtained from this zamindar house are preserved in Dhaka National Museum and Dinajpur Museum.

Dinajpur can be reached by bus and train from Dhaka. Dinajpur-bound buses ply from Dhaka's Gabtali and Kalyanpur. Among the bus services Nabil Paribahan, SR Travels, SA Paribahan, Hanif Enterprises, Kaya Paribahan, Shyamoli Paribahan etc. are notable. Non-AC and AC bus fares are Tk 800 to Tk 1500 depending on the standard.

Inter-city Ekta Express, Hirtyan Express, and Panchagarh Express trains leave for Dinajpur from Dhaka's Kamalapur or Airport railway stations. Depending on the category, the ticket price of these trains will be from 575 to 1978 rupees.
