Bangabandhu Military Museum

Bangabandhu Military Museum is a repository of information about the history, traditions and activities of the Bangladeshi military. Formerly the name of this museum was Bangladesh Military Museum.

The Bangabandhu Military Museum is built on 10 acres of land on the western side of the Bangabandhu Novotheater . Where various military equipments before and after independence are presented. The museum has six separate sections with galleries designated for the Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force, and each force's gallery has a Bangabandhu Corner.

The shield-swords used by the ancient Ottomans, warships, the history of the battle of English with Nawab Sirajuddaula, the language movement, all the leadership of the great liberation war and the history of all the struggles and achievements of the father of the nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman; These things have been elaborated with great care.

Ticket price per person to enter Bangabandhu Military Museum is Tk 100. Children 5 years and younger do not require a ticket to enter. Apart from this, the entrance fee for visitors from SAARC countries is Tk 300 and for other foreign visitors the entry fee is Tk 500. Tickets are also available online.

You can go to Bangabandhu Military Museum located next to Novo Theater in Vijay Sarani by hiring a bus, CNG or taxi from various places in Dhaka . Besides, you can reach the military museum by rickshaw or walk in front of Farmgate, Vijay Sarani, Sangsad Bhavan or Chandrima Udyan at your convenience. You can get off at Vijay Sarani stop on metro rail and walk.

You can eat at Niharika restaurant inside the museum complex. The price is a bit high but the quality of the food is quite good. There is also a nice coffee shop, serving coffee as well as snacks. If you want to eat out, you will find many good restaurants along Kazi Nazrul Road or Sangsad Bhavan Avenue Road.
